All proposals should align with the conference theme—"One State, Many Voices: Growing Social Studies From Manteo to Murphy!"—and connect to the North Carolina Standard Course of Study for Social Studies.
We are seeking dynamic, practical, and highly engaging sessions for our upcoming conference! Our goal is to provide educators with turn-key Social Studies resources—materials, unit plans, activities, and strategies that attendees can immediately implement in their classrooms or programs.
- Turn-Key Utility: Materials presented should be "ready-to-teach" (e.g., downloadable slide decks, lesson plans, rubric templates, or digital student activities).
- High Engagement: Sessions should demonstrate or model interactive teaching strategies (e.g., Â mock trials, inquiry arcs, Socratic seminars, or gamified learning).
- Clear Alignment: Direct alignment with state or national Social Studies standards (e.g., C3 Framework, state-specific standards).
